My man is 21 months

I know I know two posts in a day!! Woah. But I feel like they both need their own posts. They are both that special!! (just imagine when we have like four, wow, that's a lot of posts!!)

As hard as it is to believe that Lily is 6months is that in three months my man will be two years old. I swear that I could never ever understand how fast time goes until it was my time and my babies.

Henry James.... so many wonderful words and memories he has given me. He is a sweet sweet boy. Full of sunshine!! His little smile can brighten my day. I love the things he says that make me laugh till it hurts. And I love how he loves. He lives life very big! He enjoys it to it's maximum capacity. He laughs loud, he smiles huge, he cries loud, he pitches big fits, he runs fast, he climbs high, he is curious about EVERYTHING, he eats lots, he sleeps lots, he kisses and hugs frequently and tightly, and dances all the time!!! He LOVES music. What a joy he is!!! I do love my man and everything that comes with him. I only pray that God can give me the wisdom and patience to be the mommy that he rightly deserves. Love you pumpkin!!!

We don't go to the Dr. until he is 2 but I do know since he was sick recently that he is almost 32 pounds!! Still my big little boy.:)

Six month old sweety

Lily Grace is 6 months old!! Actually yesterday was her official birthday, but today we went to the Dr. and got all of her stats. :) Lily has been such a blessing to this family. Who knew that she would fit in so perfectly and bring such a new feminine spirit into our home.

She is such a joy to have around. Full of smiles and giggles. She loves her daddy and brother sooo much. She is very nosy and wants in on the action at all times. She loves to play with her toys and suck on her toes. She really enjoys her jumperoo, she could stay in it for an hour if I let her. I can already tell she is sooo different than her brother. She talks, a lot. And she is a very calm baby (unless you find her tired or hungry that is!!) She sits back and takes it all in. I can't wait to see her blossom even more!!!

Here are her little stats:

Length: 25 1/2 inches 50%
Weight 16lbs 3.4oz 50%
Head 17inches 74%

Sunday Sunday...

What a fabulous day today has been. It was a great church service this morning, our Sunday school lesson and teacher was fantastic and we have just hung out at home all day. The kids are on schedule and life is good:) You know I've had some realizations about being a mom in the rough patches and I can honestly say things are looking good. More of that for another post.
I got my camera back today. I haven't had it for about four days and I missed it sooo much. Here are some pictures of the kids recently. Excuse all the "same" ones of Lily. But who can pic just one when she is just so darn adorable!!??

Story time before nap.... special times.

Henry loves his pop (pictured here) and his pap. He just loves guys. I think that is wonderful but he really is a little obsessed. Anytime they are around forget getting any attention from Henry. Here is Henry and Pop in the convertible. He loves to pretend like he is driving. They jam country music and he dances around. So cute!

Bed time!! (notice the hand on the head, sure fire sign he's tired)

Better... much better

:) Today is already 1000x better and it's only 12pm. God knows what I need and I needed a morning like this. I prayed that I wouldn't let yesterday squander today. That I would let this be a new day and that's exactly what we have done. Henry is being his sweet old self and Kyle got a good night sleep last night and is back at work today. I'm pretty sure that he had food poisoning or something like that because it hit, it was bad, and then it went away. That, or some kind of fast virus. Who knows. But he is feeling much better today.

I just happened upon a new idea for feeding Henry. Sometimes he is a great eater, sometimes not so much. And it's really hard to get him to try new things. (a true toddler for ya) But a mom friend of mine has three under three. So two toddlers. And she feeds them in the funniest ways, or so I thought. And when I read what she did I was the first to be like..."right, I don't think so" but then I got thinking about it. Know first hand, toddlers LOVE choices. They like to feel like they have some control over the situation. And in some cases that OK and really healthy for them to have that. So anyway, my friend feeds her kids a lot of different things at one time. She will make a plate and put about four our five (or more) small amounts of things on the plate. That way she covers most of the food groups and puts new things on there as well.

So for lunch Henry had, one chicken nugget, cheese (he loves shredded cheese) about four pretzel sicks, two whole grain crackers with peanut butter between them,a apple slice, and get this , a hard boiled egg!! Now if I had just offered him the egg he would have promptly thrown it on the floor. And if he only had one thing and lots of pretzels he would have eaten the pretzels and then thrown a fit wanted more. But because he had so many great choices he just moved from thing to thing happily discovering what was next. And then in the middle of eating everything elts he would stick a pretzel in the yolk part of the egg and eat it. Then he would pick it up and break off a piece and eat the white. After it was all over he had eaten everything and finished 1/3 of the egg. That was huge!! So I am thinking I really like this method of feeding. Especially lunch since I seem to have a hard time getting him to eat really healthy food for lunch. :)

Well I'm off to spend some quality time with my man before nap time. :) Bye!!

To Owensboro and back....

On Friday night we left for a small trip to Owensboro to see some friends that moved there this past summer. We really miss them and it was soooo great to be able to spend some time with them.
Kyle and I just love the drive. It's not very long, it's sooo pretty, and it gives us some really good time to just relax, talk, and goof off. We really have so much fun on drives together. We have long, deep talks that otherwise we don't find near enough time to do in the regular day to day business.
This is our friends first home and it was just beautiful. It's on four akers and they have a big lake in their front yard. We felt sooo at home. We stayed the night on Friday and Saturday two more friends of ours from Louisville came and the six of us had so much fun that day. We fished, just sat on the dock and watched the fish, four wheeled, shot bows, and just sat around and chatted. :) I just love them.

The best part of the weekend was that on Friday night our friend broke the news that they are expecting their first baby! That just made my year;) I am so excited for them. More babies on the way! Well of course I have NO PICTURES from our fabulous weekend, but it was so wonderful.

Henry is feeling better. I think his mouth is still bothering him but I think his ears are healing. I sure hope so.:)

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and has power.

The culprit........

The culprit for the transformation of that sweet little boy... a DOUBLE ear infection :( Poor little guy. That's a good enough reason as any to be really out of sorts for a while now. So armed with our amoxacillin and Motrin, he is good to go for now. He has stayed in his jammies all day today and has been curled up in the recliner with a blanket watching cartoons. He really is precious. I was just in the middle of fixing some chicken noodle soup for him for lunch and I looked in the living room. He had moved to lay under Lily's jumperoo. He lays under there a lot and plays with the underside of the jumper. Well I could see his little feet from in the kitchen and I noticed that hey hadn't moved in a while. I walked in the living room and saw the little guy passed out! He never falls asleep anywhere besides his bed, so I know this little guy is tuckered out.

You know call me crazy but I love to take care of my sick babies. I mean, no I don't love them feeling bad. But I do love to love on them all day and cuddle them up in the chair. I love to make yummy soup and feed them. Oh I do love all that. So in a way I'm really glad we went to the Dr. and found out he was really sick. I just thought that he was being a pain and teething so I can't say I had the most patience. But to know he is really sick gives me a whole different perspective and patience to spare. :) I hope he starts to feel better soon. The Dr. thinks he will start to feel much better in 24 hours. Let's hope!!

you can see that Lily is very good at chearing up her brother. she even reads him stories;)

hard times

Hello! We are here. It has been a little rough patch recently. You remember that I said that I just tend not to write when things are tough, yeah so I haven't really written lately.
I suppose Henry is teething. That's my educated guess anyway.:) I know he is cutting his two year molars (Yikes!) and I think that has my little guy all out of sorts. I mean it when I tell you that he has whined/cried around the clock for the past week almost. He also isn't getting great sleep because I think his teeth wake him up. So he is always in a state of being tired. And I feel so bad because #1, I know he is uncomfortable. He is usually a happy guy so I know something is wrong. #2, crying around the clock can make you feel like you are loosing your mind. I don't feel like a great mommy when I am on the verge of pulling my hair out. #3, I hate that him being so whiny can affect the way I handle him. I don't like to be THAT MOM who is fussing/raising my voice at my kids all day. And when it comes down to it, on those days, that what I feel like I'm doing. :(

And then there is the aggression. I know, as I write it I know kids go through it but I hate it. Henry has started to push some of the kids down when we are at playgroups. It is worse when he is like he is now but I know that is just unacceptable. I'm trying to figure out the best form of discipline and it's a little rough. Anyone out there find a strategy that worked for their children?? (sorry Amelia, he really does love you)

But all in all we are hanging in there. There are still really great moments throughout the day and I still thank the Lord, even in the midst of the "pain" for these precious lives he has put me in charge of. Lily is doing great:) She loves her cereal and it getting really good at actually eating it. I hope all have power right now, and I'm so sorry for those that don't. We only lost it for about 8 hours the day of the wind storm so we were fortunate.

Lots of love from the Armour household, hope everyone is great!! And I am loving this cooler weather. Bring on the fall!! I can't wait!!!!

Happy Birthday Matt!!

Yesterday we celebrated my youngest brothers 21st birthday. I can't believe he is 21 years old. Gosh it makes me feels really really old!:) It was a fun time. We all really enjoy getting together. We had family time at Kyles parents Friday and my family Saturday. It was a really nice weekend. We are soo blessed to have so much love in this family. I think how sad it is that so many people don't have the kind of love that we have surrounding us, our children are so blessed to be growing up in the midst of it. Here are some fun pictures of last night at my mom's house. I'll have to scan some of Friday night at Kyles parents, we have some cute ones!

McDonalds and such..

Heny's Lovie brought him his very first happy meal ever! And he thought it was great!:) Thankfully, he isn't old enough to understand there is a toy that is marked 3 and over. I guess we can save them and one day have a great collection of "treats" for him.
