I just had to laugh. Henry loves kissing the baby in the mirror. :) How funny is he. What a little crazy man. I really feel so lucky. So lucky because I have a wonderful little boy who lights up every part of my life, even on those not so great days. You know Abby posted some websites of parents going through loosing or the loss of their babies. And I hate to say for a few days there I think I was a little obsessed reading their stories and crying like a baby. But I think what really strikes me about them is their hope and their faith, even amidst the biggest loss I think anyone can have. Their joy and their appreciation to God even when their baby was taken away. And I can honestly say it has really changed my perception of my life. I'm not saying I don't have bad days but really. Even on the bad days I can't help but thank the Lord that I have him and this little girl growing so healthy inside my belly. When it all comes down to it that's really all that matters right now. I have the people that I love standing by my side and I couldn't want anymore than that!! What's a better birthday present than to realize that?
OK, on a lighter note, here are some more pictures of Henry "getting into trouble". He is such a little monkey! I hope everyone is having a blessed week, even if it is bitterly cold outside and we are all getting a bit of cabin fever. Come spring come!!

Busy boy...
This is his new face that he gives me when he isn't pleased about something. I think he is telling me to stop taking pictures during lunch time.
Isn't he just so sweet? :) He is eating a snack engrossed in some cartoon. I think it's probably the super spellers, he loves them!
Yesterday he was into EVERYTHING!! He has become quite the monkey. I heard him in the kitchen and walked in to find him in the pan drawer. He didn't hear me at first and then the second picture is of when he realized I was there. so funny.
And then later that same day he managed to empty the dump truck full of blocks and get into it himself. Only he was suck for about five minutes after that. He doesn't understand how to get out yet.
And then yesterday my brother, uncle Billy, came over for a visit. Henry enjoyed this sooo much. He loves having a play mate. Here he is during snack time with Billy.
Well I think that about wraps it up. Congratulations to everyone out there that has recently had a baby. I feel like there has been a baby explosion. How wonderful and so many blessings!!!! We get Lily's 3d ultrasound next Friday so I pray that we will get some good shots of her. Can't wait!!

Vicks... who knew?
I have found a cough remedy that is great! A little smelly but great. Henry has had a cold for about a week now. You know the normal runny nose, yucky feeling, and terrible little cough. I was at my wits end because it was waking him up at night. It was really bad at night. So then I remembered a email that I think my mom sent me. It was about how they have found that if, at night, you put Vick's vapor rub on the bottoms of feet and then put socks on them that it will help a cough. Well I was ready to try anything homeopathic since you can't give babies cough med. Well what do you know, it worked. He didn't cough once that night. I mean, sure it isn't the best smell but hey I can live with that. Just wanted to pass that on to any mommy that was dealing with that nasty cough too.
I had my 27 week appt. yesterday and all is well. Well at least I hope. I had my gestational diabetes test blood drawn so no news is good news. Let's just hope that all proves not to be a problem. Little Lily is also measuring just right. This time with Henry, he was already measuring 2 weeks bigger than he was. So maybe, just maybe, this is be a more normal sized baby. We will see. I also feel really good because I had the "what to expect from your Dr. during delivery" talk with Dr. Nett and she made me so happy. She said that if at all possible she wanted the least amount of intervention possible. That if everything went how we wanted she just wanted to be there for me to push that baby out and her to catch it. That made me feel so good. That is one of the reasons for leaving the other practice. They were so hyper and so all about medical intervention that it drove me crazy. When you are trying to have the most natural labor and delivery possible that can prove to be a problem. So I am just thrilled with Dr. Nett. I really am glad I chose this practice. And even the staff is super nice. Something I can't say for my old one as well.
Henry has learned how to climb up on our couch all by himself now. That is a really big step, also very scary. He still doesn't understand that he can't just fall off the couch. He will just stand up and fall backwards without even thinking about it. So it is a new obstacle to keep him away from. But he is super proud of himself!! He is really such a character. He makes me laugh about 100 times a day. I just love him.
Well I hope everyone is having a great start to this new year. I wish the weather would stick around but I know better around here. So long warm weather!!

Happy birthday Henry!!
I just can't believe that Henry is a year old. His birthday was on the 31st and it just doesn't seem like it was a year ago that we were in the hospital having a baby. It seems like yesterday. We had his birthday party today and he was so cute. He didn't even feel very fabulous but he was so cute all the same. Such a big boy these days.
Here is Henry having a drink watching football, he loves football.
The cake was a big ordeal. He was pretty scared of the candle, then he didn't want to touch the cake, really he didn't want the cake to come anywhere near him. He doesn't like mushy things in his hands and the cake was no exception. Only when we got him out of his high chair and broke him off pieces of cake would he put it in his mouth and eat it. So here is the end with only a little icing on his face. What can I say, he's a clean kid!
And this is how he felt after the long, happy day. Happy 1st birthday Henry James!! We love you more than you will ever know!
